Australia Partner Visas
A Partner Visa is recommended for eligible New Zealand citizens, those who have a relationship with a Permanent Resident or an Australian citizen.
Prospective Marriage Visa
A Prospective Marriage Visa will allow the fiance of a Permanent Resident or an Australian citizen to stay in Australia for a maximum of 9 months. During this time, it is expected that the fiance marries the intended spouse and applies for a partner visa.
Spouse Visa
You may start an application for a Spouse visa as long as you are married to a Permanent Resident or an Australian citizen.
Defacto Visa
The Defacto visa requires a provisional visa which grants you temporary residence within Australia. During the course of 2 years you will need to meet certain criterias in order to be granted permanent residence. This Partner-type visa also requires you to be in a relationship for a minimum of 12 months.
Sponsorship
All applicants who wish to migrate on a Partner Visa must have a sponsorship. The sponsor must provide a written statement showing their willingness to support the applicant during their first 2 years in Australia, which includes financial support, living accommodations that are within acceptable parameters.
Partner visa applications must be fully sponsored by an eligible New Zealand citizen, a Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen who is 18 years of age or older. Should the Australian partner not reach the minimum required age, the applicant may be sponsored by the legal guardian or the Australian partner's parent. Inter-dependency visa sub-classes will require both partners to be at least 18 years of age or older.
